Have you ever had one of those days were everything you considered wearing for the day just seemed wrong? Maybe making a choice from all your favorites just wasn’t cutting it, or perhaps you were simply burnt out on wearing the same thing day after day. The great news is that without spending thousands of dollars on a new working wardrobe, you can find great ways to update what you wear to work on a regular basis. However, one of the most important steps in looking great is knowing when it is time to purchase new working apparel.

Are your denim pants so thin in area that you can hold them up to the light and see through them? If you answered yes, it is time to think about buying some new jeans. Your jeans need to look sharp. If you are thinking that some people pay for that particular “old” look, think again. Yes, the faded look is in, but the faded look generally comes in a thick fabric that look great even though it has an old look.

Do your shirts have hems and cuffs that are frayed? If you happen to be continually trimming away loose threads, it is time to bite the bullet and go clothes shopping. The shirt is a major part of your entire presence. Did you know you are more likely to get a raise if you look and feel great? A good shirt is the basis for the rest of your ensemble. Insure you have shirts that are solid and not coming apart at the seams.

There are some basics that allow you to know it is time to go clothes shopping. No, not everyone likes shopping, and if you are one of those people, you will appreciate the high quality working apparel on the market these days. When you do make a purchase, your purchase will look even better lasting longer.

Looking for ways to spruce up what you wear to work?

Start with accessories! Whether you change your hair accessories, earrings, necklace, or watches, you can improve the look of your current working clothing simply by adding a few new accessories. Generally, these can be affordable and the best part is that they go with more of your complete ensembles!

Change the handkerchief or scarves! Handkerchiefs and scarves are a great way to add new life to older apparel. These are affordable, and you will get to choose from a multitude of choices. Adding a single scarf can add something new and improved to your workplace experience.

Change the footwear! A simple pair of shoes or boots will go a long way in sprucing up your tired apparel. One good pair of work boots can make all the difference in the world. Simply choose footwear that meets your industry standards for a new look that will also make you walk a bit taller.

If you are at a loss for what to wear to work, take a look at a few magazines. You will see how people accessorize. Accessorizing is one step in getting a great look even out of older clothing.
